House Accounts, or in-store accounts that function like credit cards, are effective for building a long-term customer base. onePOS offers an in-house house account solution that can be easily set up using the oneMetrix cloud and the POS system. The house account transactions, which include balance queries, activating new account, making purchases, and batching can be accomplished at both the POS and the cloud. Making payments to new and existing accounts is capable both on site and off site. Multiple Location Sharing
The system also allows multiple locations to share house accounts. If a customer signs up for an account at one site, they can use their account at another location within that group to make purchases and payments. The system is capable of assigning multiple card numbers to an account, so if someone loses their card they can be assigned another at any time.
In addition to transactional operations, viewing account history and other various reports is capable through the oneMetrix cloud. The cloud provides various types of reports, like a batch history report to view settlement information for a specified date range. Various house account types can be defined in the oneMetrix cloud. Types of accounts can include catering accounts, VIP customer accounts, or any other type that meets the needs of the restaurant. In addition to house account types, oneMetrix provides the ability to reward or fee customers with certain house account types given the use of the house account. For instance, a location could incur a $10 fee on the account if the customer has not used the account in the past 90 days. Conversely, they may set up a gift card type that rewards customers with an bonus value of $15 added to the account balance, if they have used the card in the past 15 days.
Account lookup at the POS is very easily accomplished. The POS provides various ways tofilter for house account customers; the lookup feature also allows servers to print guest transaction history and retrieve their card number. Because house accounts are defined by being centralized around the account owner, the house account system at the POS can be set up to function as card-less. This feature can be turned on an off by dining area, so the ability to be card- less can vary depending on the location of the dining area. For instance, a site can be card-less at the bar and enforce cards at the main dining area. With this feature, customers do not have to possess a physical card to be able to use their account on site.
